I have had many a pleasant trip on my friends boat from Linton to York and Boroughbridge but he has now moved the boat to the Leeds /Liverpool canal. The Lock gates are still in operation but the Pub is closed,now thats very sad.Many thanks Guy.

Hotel Intereurop is 200yards from the Eppesses rail station and has wonderful views of the French and Swiss Alps.

Skipton is a great market town with lots of stalls. Some good views of the boats on the canal can be had from the bridge.

Strathpeffer is a Spa village and is close to Dingwall and Inverness. Lots of Hotels and ideal for touring the Highlands
