Very nice picture. I was also in that region. With a smal car i was driving from Oudthoorn till Prince Albert and back... It was a trip that i never forget. I was alone for one month from Johannesburg to tzaneen, then till capetown along the garden route and back to Johannesburg along the Great Karoo.
Hi Berndludwig I am glad you like it. I you want you can download it. It will be my plesure to now you have it with great memories of your brother.
I was there in 1999 and on that bench i was taking a rest. It was so quite and i was alone on that trip ! Greetings from Belgium. Jacques
First seeing the photo was like wow, how big it is!! (you forget) Amazing! :) And then reading the comments, so interesting and nice just hearing the place names: Westdene, Auckland Park, Melville, SABC, Brixton Tower, Wemmerpan, Triomf - thirty plus years later (and living overseas) hearing the names does take one back in time!! :) and very happy memories :) We used to buy our meat (half a side of beef or lamb) from a butcher in Westdene. Wonder if he's still there?
