This steam shovel STILL WORKS!

This building contained the boilers to provide steam for the large stationary engine that powered the entire mill. It also provided steam for the wood drying kilms. All the sawdust and scrap wood produced by the mill was used to power these operations.

This building is actually the power house for the Cass Lumber Mill. It still contains the Corless Steam Engine that powered the entire mill through a extensive series of belts and pulleys

Sad to say but this vehicle is no longer there as all tanks have been moved to Ft. Benning for storage until such time as a new muesum can be built. Judging by the aerial photo it has been replaced for now by a WWII 155mm towed canon
