A Corporate Manager and owner of medium size business enterprise, residing in Mumbai, India. I belong to the Kuttickal Koshy Family from Kottayam, Kerala, India.
I have seen that beautiful villa, where Fr. Koshi resides.
Is it possible to get KK road on a higher resolution, may be by paying a meagre sum from your work place? It is not possible doing it by sitting here in India.
Quilon (Kollam) is the closest city to Thenmala where you get on to National Highway (NH 47) or to catch superfast trains having destinations nationwide. The nearest airport is Trivandrum (Thiruvanthapuram)[72 Kms]. Thenmala Reservoir is 66 Km from Kollam, a drive that would take you over one hour and half on the winding and climbing but paved road that snakes through lush rubber and tea plantations. But once there, you are at the very door of a dense tropical forest, home of several rare animals, birds, flora and fauna. It is India's first planned Eco-tourism project. The World Tourism Organisation considers it one of the most significant among the world's best eco-friendly projects. Thenmala has Leisure zones with winding pathways, a sway bridge and a broad walk. The culture zone includes an Amphitheatre and musical fountain. Besides, there is an adventure zone maintaned by Thenmala Eco tourism promosion council.

I reached the Nets at tea time. But the Monsoon Sun preferred to hide in the clouds to disappoint me. Fishermen just about deserted the Nets until morning when there should be easy catch. Sitting on the water's edge I suddenly saw the silhouette of the Net against the glowing clouds and gleaming waters making a pretty picture of tranquility that my memory would behold with immense satisfaction.
Neyyar is better known for the Neyyar Dam across the river Neyyar. It is a popular picnic spot set against a back drop of pristine and diamond blue waters of this tranquil lake and the picturesque dam at its lower end. Rowing in the silence of the still waters, periodically broken by an orchestra of bird songs, is a spiritual experience that visitors are seldom able to resist.
Some rare and costly medicinal herbs grow in the surrounding forests. The Neyyar Wildlife Sanctuary is the home for over a hundred rare species of flora and fauna, and wild animals that abound this forest include elephants, buffaloes, wild boar, porcupines, tigers and a number of varieties of snakes. A crocodile breeding centre and a lion safari park are located near the dam.
An hour away from the Captial town of Trivandrum with fast railways, expressways and international airline connections, Neyyar is a soul soothing experience of a lifetime.
