I do not remember any bad odors nor biting flies. We were at the Wanganui River Top 10 Holiday Park und just visited the beach. The Town itself was nice.

I lived in an apartment in Uster that advertised 'alpenblick' or mountain view. True. However the atmospheric conditions that allowed you to actually see the Glarner alps occurred a few days/year. That said, it was spectacular.
