It is a interesting motive. Best for you. Brumm (L)

Hi, Thanks for putting this photo on Panoramio. I used this path whilst visiting my cousin, back in March 2012. We rowed out from the beach to his boat and sailed around the Bay of Islands for the day. It was a fantastic day out for a Pom like me :-)

Picture taken near Mangonui but the river may be accessible from the State Highway.

THATS my place right there.

Oruaiti River, Paewhenua Island on the left

Fantastic colours! Lovely photo.

Yes, that's about the right place Rob.. I took a photo of this place in May 2004 (placed on the South West side of the lodge)and the roof was just about intact then. It interested me because it's so isolated, and I was trying to work out how they got the slates (they're Welsh Blue slates, as far as I can see) to the place. Even with the railway a few miles away, it would have been a heck of a task with a horse and cart. Anyway, hope things have settled down there now - my wife lived in NZ for a few years, in Thames, North Island.

I took the same photo, through the front gate!
