Peacebuilders International works to create a sustainable just-peace, especially in the Asia-Pacific Region. Some of those trained as peacebuilders and the arenas in which they work are depicted on this site. Photography is a tool for recording and research into conflicts as well as a means to generate creativity and reflection, both of which are essential to peacebuilding.

Thanks so much for precious advices, I will take them into account! Unfortunately I am always short of time when I travel around the world, but I maximize it the best as I can And all this area is very attractive! Ciao and peace Filippo

Vanuatu is a special country as far as I am concerned. Its landscapes, its people and its special attractions will make a visit truly worthwhile, Filippo.

Thanks for connecting with me, too.

Ian

It really was a wonderful encounter for these two "sisters". I am sure neither of them have forgotten their time together. And I hope you enjoy your up-coming visit to PNG, Filippo, and that you are especially enriched by the people you meet.

Hi Berend,

I never ceased to be amazed at the skill and daring of the bricklayers of centuries gone by! Bruges, Delft, Prenzlau .... all amazing.

Dear Berend,

I recently had an inquiry about Yabba Mountain from a local man who was researching the story of Douglas Gericke. In 1940, Mr Gericke was captured by police on Yabba Mountain, but we dd not know where Yabba Mountain was, as it is not named on maps. The researcher's persistence led him to descendants of local farmers who were involved in the events and capture of Mr Gericke, and they were able to identify the place of his capture, on the summit of this mountain. Smoke from his campfire had alerted police to his location.

Mr Gericke was a loner, a swagman, who wandered the country with his gun and sheathed knife. Because of his appearance and that he roamed alone, people became alarmed because they didn't know his intent.

Once taken into captivity he was incarcerated in a mental institution.

The story and the researcher have enabled us to recover the name of this prominent mountain.

Anápolis, Londrina, Maringá e Santa Maria são belas cidades e com excelente qualidade de vida.

Thank you. My wife descends from the original owners of Warrawang, Mount Lambie. Consequently we have explored the area and its history a bit.

I imagine, Amelia that the algal bloom develops best in tropical waters, hence the volume of water and broken down algae that is available for churning and thrashing by a tropical cyclone.

Warmest regards,

Ian
