Sure enough this wooden structure would not withstand any firearms attack but from the time of its construction at the beginning of the 16th century to our days, it has been able to remain unchanged thanks to two outside moats giving protection from would be attackers and to its very efficient architecture that prevent access by disorientating completely any enemy. One of the many confusing elements is the presence of a sixth floor, even though it shows only five levels when seen from the outside. Should you come to Japan, that is one monument that must be on your list of Must see.
