You got a nice shot of the pavilion in the upper left hand corner ...and the tide is out or low at this point ... usually the water will be a lot closer to the pillars of the building ... 30 years ago it would have gone right under the building during high tide but not so much these days. During big storms it might.
It seems like you may have taken this picture during low tide and right after a storm ... normally what happens is the undertow drags rocks,shells and seaweed so hard it causes this to happen .. You should come here during the next big storm and watch it first hand.. The power of the ocean is pretty awesome !!!
I would like to call this architectural style Art Deco. (The Empire State Building in New York City, USA is a well known example of Art Deco architecture). If I am right, it is only the second time I have seen a photo of an Art Deco church.
