A nice video from my YouTube channel about railway station Ål in summertime... Two trains pass each other in Ål and follow their way, the one to Oslo and the other one to Bergen.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JbIxvNwvk-k

No, there was not an arrival or departure: the railroad between Oslo and Fredrikstad was closed that day so we had to take the bus, and that bus had a stop here also.

Aurland is a small, characteristic, harmonious, cosy village, with many very nice houses, in all kinds of sizes, forms and colors. A Paradise, with much green! Next to the beautiful Aurlandsfjorden. Really incredible that obviously it is not so easy to find Norwegians to start living here, to build up a new life, as (young) couples. It is subsidized, I heard, but despite of that, it still seems to be possible to find a house there. Interested? :)

Days filled with much rain are very usual in this summer, 2011, here in Norway. Even then I can see the beauty of the lesser or darker kinds of grey, painting the panorama into a mysterious though peaceful landscape. Close to this Strandavatnet is a nice restaurant, where you can drink coffee, eat waffles with home made marmelade and rømme, drink a wine or a beer, sit inside or outside, and celebrate life despite of the rain.... :)

The name Hovsfjorden must have been grown out of the combination of Hovet and Fjorden: Hovetsfjorden, became Hovsfjorden, I guess, as there is Holsfjorden.... To know where Hovet might be situated you have to think into the direction of the North West in the photo here.

To find Hol you have to make a journey with your eyes over the rocks, the forest, more deep behind somewhere next to a light blue spot on the right side of the photo: that is Holsfjorden and Hol is on the left border of it... :)
