In klirrender Kälte
Spuren entdeckt,
sie haben sofort
meine Neugier geweckt.
Ich folge ihnen
auf Schritt und Tritt
und nehme gewahr:
ein Hund war mit.
Erwachsene Füße,
vier an der Zahl,
durchquerten das Schneefeld,
ganz weiß und kahl.
Dazwischen ein Kind,
mit Füßen recht klein,
das hin und her läuft,
querfeldein.
Der Hund auf vier Pfoten,
rennt mit dem Kind,
läuft seine Runden,
bewegt sich geschwind.
Mit glühenden Wangen,
die Nasen ganz rot,
kehrt ihr nach Hause,
zum Abendbrot.
Ich hab’ euch gesehen,
doch kenn’ ich euch nicht,
die Spuren im Schnee
zeigen euer Gesicht.
