Gligo, thanks a lot for your words. For me 2 days there were a marvel. Olga

Саша, вблизи на дорогу не похоже. Шумит и камешки катит. Мы жили над самой водой в снятой мною гостинице, на 4 этаже. Такая сказка - всю ночь слышно горную реку! Ольга

Vakfıkebir, "KARADAG" HIGH PLATEAU... I am from Vakfıkebir. I lived in that high plateau and we had water from the mountain itself, natural spring water which was extremely cold, healthy and tasty. I have never seen my own plateau with this amount of snow, because I just went there at summer times and when it is summer, the mountain shows its beautiful grass. Everywhere is covered by that grass and at the end of the summer there are lots of white or pink flowers, which are called "Keyvan Kovan" means if you see that flowers are there it is the time of moving back to the village and winter is coming. The mountain is used because of the high temperature in village at summer. Farmers want to give those fresh and nutritious grass to their animals like cows or sheep and they collect some grass and dry them to bring back to village as a preparation for winter to feed the animals, also the temperature is really good in comparison to the village which is extremely important for the elders. In addition, the low air pressure gives you a great feeling and helps your body to create more fresh blood. People cut dead trees from the forest around the area, from which you can also collect special tree gum which has a yellow-brown colour -but after you chew it colour changes to purple- and has an outstanding density, flavour and especially odour. Also you can collect fresh mushrooms around the area, after any rain at summer time. Inside the forest there is a special mineral water place which is also comes from the mountain itself, the health is just in there... You should see this plateau, see its beautiful sunsets. You are above the clouds, you see them like they are under your feet and the sun light reflects from over the clouds which makes the scene lovely, romantic and make you think... This plateau is the second highest plateau in Vakfikebir area after the Sis Plateau as I know. In the middle of this picture, you see a mosque. We call the area around it "Cami Yanı". In that area, there are shops, cafes, a butcher, a bakery, a clinic and some places to stay. At the beginning of the summer time -June- there is a annual festival to celebrate the beginning of the plateau time. You can see traditional dances, some games, activities and civil singers. If you want to visit the place, just contact with civil government from this e-mail; Vakfıkebir Belediyesi- info@vakfikebir.bel.tr Have a great time at "KARADAG YAYLASI". Regards, Murat ISLAM
