This is the hotel in Uaxactun and this view is looking at the entrance. There is a restaurant here as well that is able to accomodate groups of all sizes. If you are only visiting Uaxactun for the day, meals can be provided here. There will be a website with more information sometime this year. Prices per night are about $12 and meals can be about $3-4 depending on what is served.

This ruin is particularly interesting because you can go inside this structure and explore the tunnels. The view from the top looks over the jungle to the East and is amazing.

This collection of Mayan pottery is unrivaled by other museums in the country, collected by chance through trades by looters for food or beer. This collection is housed at the Campamento Chiclero Hotel in Uaxactun and is available to view for free. It is truly a once in a lifetime chance to get up close and personal with artifacts like this.

San Ignacio is a neat little town that works well as a base to explore the surrounding area.

This view is looking west at the exit from Belize. On the left of the picture is the building to enter and go through customs. There is another building about 100 yards further where you have to pay to enter Guatemala.

The road to Uaxactun is dirt North of Tikal but the local busses make daily trips. They leave the village at 6am and 7am to San Benito then depart from the market at 1pm and 2pm. This morning was after a storm that had thrown a tree across the road.
