As the manager of the Air Traffic Control radar unit at nearby RAF Bentwaters I volunteered to run the tower for the 309th BG reunion in 1981. We had a B17 flyby that really pleased all the participants. The coordination was a bit tricky but, we got it done.

When this photo was taken there were no pubs in the village, which was a shame. Since then I beleive one has re-opened just opposite the church as an upmarket restaurant.

I lived in Sporle from 1981-1984 and I loved it. I really miss living in England and one day hope to go back. Looking for a friend that I met in Sporle, Judy Neale. She lived on Newfields. Can anyone help?
