W1n4rt0: "Thanks berat" for your comments on both of my photos. You have also helped me with the Latin names of some flowers I photographed in KalBar by showing them in your gallery. Sampai nanti, Indy

Even with my brother in the foreground, this is the loveliest of locations in Niagara Region (ha ha). Twelve Mile Creek always puts on a good show, and though the descent into the gorge by rope can be daunting, the rewards are many. Steady moisture guarantees an ample carpet of lush, green growth. The gorge walls lead the eye to the falls, where mists are pounded outward at the base, and the historic mill rises just above the water's crest. indyj@rogers.com

Long time exposure created this ghostly effect. I'm still amazed at how, during a digital age, some people continue to have faith in photography as a medium to record facts. It's not the fault of photography itself, nor of the artists who intend to modify the image, unless they lie about it. And I'm not against photographers who manipulate images; they are artists, after all. It's just that we tend to attach ourselves to a belief, including the sciences, until it is proven to be untenable. Is it not a better thing to have faith in someone who has historically been proven to be without fault? indyj@rogers.com

Lower DeCew Falls is not tourist-friendly, but that in itself seems to make the site all the more attractive. The fact that there is no easy way to get to its bottom discourages all but the hardiest explorers, and so far, this is attested to by the lack of dams, remnant concrete, and trash that are found at most other southern Ontario waterfalls. indyj@rogers.com
