b.boutsma's conversations

Unfortunately one empoyee lost his life by the collapse of the cement silo on January 8th 2015.

Terminal at Vila do Conde

BRIELLE was a Dutch flagged General Freighter(built 1999).

This view, from the straights of Gibralter, harkens back to the excitment of passage aboard ship. I never sailed this far south on the big U, but can recall many other voyages on the likes of; SS Independence, SS Constitution, MV Michelangelo. All of which sailed past Gibralter, taking passengers in Algerceras and points east.

My family sailed aboard her in 1958 and enjoyed her full spendour and all-American crew, design and character. No other ship touched my heart the same as the Big U. To me, coming home after years abroad, was a glorious preview of the greatness of our wonderful homeland - at sea. I pray that the efforts of the conservacy and other organizations succeed in preventing NCL's parent from ending her life. She IS a living witness of America's greatness in the golden age of Trans-Atlantic journeys.

Good Mornlng b.boutsman Although there is a lot of very interesting things in ya pitcha... it's not a 'fiiled-up' one, y'naa?

Aaaa reckon ye could 'polish it up a wee bit' on a photo-edit site, print it oot on some decent paoer, then either frame & offer for sale.....or offer for sale to the company who you sailed into tht TYNE with on that day! Ye could mek yersel a bitta beeor money!!

Aaal the best, marra
