this looks like a fairly recent photo. I would stop at this little bar on my bike ride home to the Clear Spring district. It is a safe, quiet little spot. Hyacinth is a real nice person. May I have a copy of this photo?

View of Salt Creek Bay from top of cliff at Folly Estate. A number of trees in the photo were knowcked down by a recent hurricane.

Reggae singer Glen Williams from the Glen Williams Band, trying on a cap at Musgrave Market. Glen's family owns the coconut farm in the southeast corner of Folly Estate.

Old Market Square is a small park used for numerous events, especially during the summer months, such as the Fringe Festival and the Jazz Festival. There is a medium-sized stage with a canopy, facing on a patch of grass. Adjacent on the east there is a lot on Main Street which is used by vendors during events.

The photos shows the band JFK and the Conspirators playing at the Winnipeg Jazz Festival.

This is the Glen Williams Band playing at an Alzheimer's charity event, under the canopy in the courtyard.

You couldn't make a better choice in choosing a beach in the area to spend the day at. Though Winnifred is technically a public beach, and hence should be free of charge, you may come across some locals claiming to maintain the beach and you should pay to get in. Whether or not to pay is up to you, but the locals do in fact maintain the beach, and they are very helpful in obtaining whatever you may desire if you are willing to spend a little. If you are able to support the local economy, please do - the locals have been politically active to keep this beach open to all.

If you are hitching or taking a taxi from Port Antonio, they will drop you off on the main road, a short walk from the beach. You go down and walk on a gravel road, through a small community called Fairy Hill, until the road makes a sharp right. Continue straight off the road and down a little path that will lead you to the beach.

The beach includes a changing room, a drink stand (of sorts), some people making and selling stew, and vendors selling the usual trinkets. Adapted from this traveller review

At Boston Bay you can swim, surf, or sample Jerk Chicken where it was invented (at least that is what all the vendors say). This view is looking East, down hill toward the bay.

This view is looking East towards the Anglican Church in Port Antonio's central district.

This is a view from the beach at Jah-Mek-Ya, a bar and night club run by 'Pharaoh'. Here you can check your e-mail, order a Red Stripe, and watch the fishermen in the East Harbour. This view is looking North towards Folly Point.
