Thank you, Marion. Mom and my sister, Carolyn, visited Meryl and me when we lived in Germany. The biggest thrill for Mom was to see the Eiffel Tower. She and Carolyn took a tour to Paris without us as we had to work. Mom told me about standing under the Tower with tears in her eyes, never imagining a poor Cajun from South Louisiana would ever see Paris. She said she could remember, as a young girl, seeing the Eiffel Tower in a school book, never dreaming she would ever see it in person. It was special for us to be able to give her that.
