This photograph is of the remains of the Denning Cider Mill, where Denning's Crab Apple Cider was crushed, barreled, and stored. In the mid 1800s all of the apples were actually grown on Denning's Point.
I grew up in South Orange in the '70s and we would also go see the deer on the reservation. Always took the Florida cousins there to see them and play in the pine forest. It was absolute paradise. This image really brings me back. Thank you.
