there's alot of ways back to the lake.. BUT BEWARE!!!! , IT LOOKS NICE , BUT IT CAN BE VERY UGLY TOO!!i go back all the time i live not 10 min from the place , us locals call the place sarco's its an old abandoned mining facility for minerals but WOW what an awesome time you can have .. but also YOU BETTER HAVE POWER UNDER THE HOOD AND GOOD SUSPENSION!!! lot of tretcherous terrain , but with some guidence , you'll have a blast ,, PSSS!!! COPS do go back there to ruin the fun , so remember , power and suspension are what you need , to survive sarco's OH and by the way ,, that beach front in the pic isn't really a beach , its just a path that the excavating equipment made when it was a working facility , and that water is VERRRRRY!!!! DEEP over 300 at its deepest about a mile and a half long about a quarter to a half mile wide , and there is also 2 other smaller lakes back there too

Wow, just ran across this pic while searching out my youth. I used to go to St. Christopher's in the 60's. My friend Lee, lived right across the street on the corner of Fieldcrest Drive and Littleton Road. It's funny that in this picture, the church looks like it did in the 60s, but I just noticed the pic was taken in 2008...you stand still long enough, you'll see yourself walk by! Still all kinds of warm fuzzy's. I remember Sister Mary Helena who was the head sister? LoL and Sister Mary Rose, who was the sweetest Sister I had ever met.

If your mother was named Ginny, then she and my mother were good friends. Havent been back to Long Island since moving to florida in 1970 but have always wanted to come back and visit the place where I grew up and was baptized. captain219us@yahoo.com
