Aras Mardosa's conversations

I was there in 63 with Bendix and Jeff Burris. Off to the left on the Lagoon side was FAA dependent housing. Off to the left those Quonset huts was the Island store that was run for profit to supply the Island children with books, paper and pencils. If my memory serves correct, you could get a bottle of B & B for $3.00 US.

Jburris1940 ! Would that be Jeff Burris that worked with Sonny Wagner (KB6CQ) back in 1963 ?? I was just going thru some pics of the Mercury site and our living quarters. Sure would like to hear from you or any of the other Bendix people.

Jimmy-What was Charlie's (at the MIPIR) last name. He pitched over way out towards A-site and was a long time before rescue.

It was forbidden to dive on this wreak. But I think maybe some members of the dive club did.

A-site radar techs drove this regularly. Nesting sea turtles encountered frequently.

Fred Campbell and Charlie Dog's pack. That's probably Tommy Oliver with them.

Hey Aras- can I copy and use this photo? Do you have any photos of the wrecked PBY over on the English side beach?Tom Maxwell

Charlie Dog- remember him well. Fred really loved that dog.

Hey, that's Al Mayhew at the bar. Bless his soul!
