Formerly the residence of the Chieftain of the Clan Robertson, before becoming the property of the Forestry Commission. Bought in 1959 by A.J.S. (Dougal) Greig, and his two co-founders, John Fleming, and Pat Whitworth, to establish Rannoch School, a private boarding school,one of SCotland's leading "Public" schools. It closed many years later, and the property was purchased by a private individual. See Wikipedia under "Rannoch School" for further detail of the building's history.
