The small sturcture behind the white pickup truck is Morris Neal Burgers. This landmark has been a haven of the best burgers in Cleburne for over 40 years. The yellow building in the background is the original Electirc Company offices and directly behind both of these structures and across the bridge is the restored original Cleburne High School which is now the Criminal Courts for Johnson County.
This wall is located in the Wright Complex in downtown Cleburne. It is a tribute to General Cleburne, the Chisholm Trail and the founding fathers of the orginal settlement of Wardville nearby.
This home is the original conductors house for the railroads in Cleburne. There is a long history of several structures in Cleburne that can be found at the Layland Museum.
After thinking about this, I do not believe Eddie Deussen was the husband of Janet and owner of the Burger Barn. I think maybe it was Billy???
This is the old ATSF railroad depot. The rail line was relocated north of the toen and elevated in the 1950's when Lake Whitney was built. It previously ran through downtown Blum and Kopperl. You can still see much of the old route including the grade as it crosses the Brazos river. In Blum, Co Rd 1127 is part of the old right of way.
