I'm an amateur photographer who on the odd occasion is at the right place at the right time. I have been taking pictures since I was about eight years old using a hand-me-down 110 Instamatic. I've also had a Pentax Zoom 90-WR, Kodak Z740, and now a Kodak Z990 digital camera. I enjoy taking pictures of flowers (especially wildflowers), lighthouses, waterfalls, architecture, and other things I find interesting, which is just about everything. My profile picture is a self-portrait taken outside Voodoo Doughnuts in downtown Portland Oregon, July 2013.

Wow, thanks a lot, Pamela - we were entertained by how imperturbable this gull was with big waves crashing all around it. It stood there for the longest time and is in several other images. Usually my gull shots are a washout - they are so bright white - I really lucked out here with the fog and the sea mist and only an occasional ray of sunlight. The sea was glorious. Wish you were here (O:

Thank you, dear Russian friends. Refrigerated freight costs for snow are very expensive. I have read of snow being transported by truck to cities that had scheduled winter festivals, but had no snow that year.

Thank you and a Happy New Year to you as well, Micky. You are very generous to my images. Very best warm wishes (O:

Very pretty indeed I also love that layered landscape behind it.

Warm wishes, Erik

Totally! It looks like a pack of cigarettes more than French fries, I think. Well, better than a pile of Tater Tots, I guess.

Really beautiful decorations, thanks for sharing!

I've been having second thoughts about helping the neighborhood cats get their lunch! There are lots, besides mine. Well, maybe I'll feed the birds just in the winter...
