I'm an amateur photographer who on the odd occasion is at the right place at the right time. I have been taking pictures since I was about eight years old using a hand-me-down 110 Instamatic. I've also had a Pentax Zoom 90-WR, Kodak Z740, and now a Kodak Z990 digital camera. I enjoy taking pictures of flowers (especially wildflowers), lighthouses, waterfalls, architecture, and other things I find interesting, which is just about everything. My profile picture is a self-portrait taken outside Voodoo Doughnuts in downtown Portland Oregon, July 2013.

Thank you for the comments and the "update", Conwayalan. I may have to avoid the Gardenview Drive and County Road 42 intersection from here-on-out. It was tough enough to see the lose of the pegasus and the stainless steel pumps. The tobacco shop conversion may be just too much to bear. LOL Thank you again for joining the discoverers of this little piece of history!

Thanks Ron. I've found more than 40 different wildflowers in this same area.

Great detail. What a beautiful flower.

Thank you very much, Nenad and Olga. Best regards. Ron.

Beautiful photo. This gets a 'like' and a 'favorite' from me. You have a wonderful eye for composition.

When I was about 7 years old (1964 or 1965... gasp!), my older sister's boyfriend said that he had found an abandoned lighthouse on the coast and we all went to take a look at it. This is the lighthouse. (Now restored.)
There was a beaten-up sign pointing to a trail off a seldom-used dirt parking lot. The place was overgrown and in ruins. (Though not badly vandalized yet.) Some metal stairs went up 2 sides of the hexagonal structure to the observation deck. Someone had gained access to the lamp housing and placed a very neat, professional-looking sign inside that read "Six Candlepower". In front of the sign, facing the ocean was a six-prong candelabrum with old, ratty candles set in it all crooked.
Thanks for bringing back this early, whimsical memory.
By the way, I love your photos. It seems you took quite a tour of the Western US.

Wonderful Farm Picture!!!!

Wonderful Picture!!!!

It is sad to hear the garden is not being kept up. My wife and I discussed stopping there last winter but were short of time so had to head home instead. She has never seen the garden and I thought it would make an interesting stop... I guess we may have avoided a disappointment. Keep up the good work, I enjoy your photography!

Wonderful old Railroad Bridge Picture!!!!
