I'm an amateur photographer who on the odd occasion is at the right place at the right time. I have been taking pictures since I was about eight years old using a hand-me-down 110 Instamatic. I've also had a Pentax Zoom 90-WR, Kodak Z740, and now a Kodak Z990 digital camera. I enjoy taking pictures of flowers (especially wildflowers), lighthouses, waterfalls, architecture, and other things I find interesting, which is just about everything. My profile picture is a self-portrait taken outside Voodoo Doughnuts in downtown Portland Oregon, July 2013.

Please, Panoramio friends, sign the petition to give Google the opportunity to rectify and keep Panoramio alive, to make Google change their mind.

Thank you, Hans. I truly hope Panoramio survives.

Hello Suzi, Pamala and Patricia I totally agree with you all. Google is at the point of killing a quality website in exchange for a picture dump landfill (views). Making it so easy to drop pictures it will end up 99,9% crap and perhaps a small amount of good pictures.

I was happy when Google decided to buy Panoramio from it's founders as I thought this big company would be the assurance this site would not disappear. How wrong that thought was. Google turns out to be Scroogle as they give up on Panoramio because its a difficult site to maintain and update. Strange as there are so many bright developers working there.

I rest my case. Hoping my goodbye is not a farewell.

I almost forgot the reason why I was here! The picture or perhaps a water painting so pretty it deserves a place at a museum (needless to say:YSL)

Cheers, Erik

Absolutely fine and elegant picture. Hello from Athens.

Beautiful bird ( we have them here in the summer ) - glad you could capture this one !

Interesting, indeed, Luis! Gracias!

I tried to look up its history and as best as I could determine is that it probably dates back to the 1930's. So not quite a 100 years. . .

I think it was completely different, bright orange maybe. It's been a long time.

Yes it does. It was hard to get a good shot of this bridge that didn't involve pavement, guard rails, power lines, and vehicles driving by in the background.
