Scusa se ti rispondo con estremo ritardo..
si si io son o fiulano, infatti il grigio e la nebbia mi son familiari!! comunque torno su questa foto dopo 7mesi e non posso fare a meno di apprezzarla nuovamente!!
No Mari, I'm not blind and think to be a good observator. Anyway, I think also that Varadero is not Cuba sole, it is a stripe of land rented to many international Companies that have build their mega hotel. Cuban are not allowed there, except the low-services-workers. And I noted all that too...
Bye,
Roberto
Dear Mari, to put end to a regime often need an external cause. Mr. Obama may be this cause. He means the "new" for international political relationship, and I never ask to Mr. Castro (F. or R.) an end to their dictature, but prefer hope in external event.
Castros are actually the old and yellowed copy of themselves at time of revolution. And so is wasted their revolutionary elan and their political vision. Castros are prisoners of themselves.
But we cannot forget what was Cuba before Castros. There was another regime and another dictator, Batista, totally slave of USA involvements. USA had the control of tourism industries, hotels, mines, factories, agricolture.
The control was exercited by mafia and private army. And USA involvement to Cuba was much longer, since the war with Spain, at early 19th century, for the control of the island. And still today USA keeps the control of a little part of Cuban sole, Guantanamo, and have there a fleet and many soldiers, and the famous jail. Now, I don't know if you are USA or Cuban citizen but, anyway, are you proud of all this? Now, you say that embargo don't exist in Cuba, but I visit Cuba three times and never seen shops with dresses, electronic appareal, hi-fi, television, shoes, cars, etc. Just some little shop for tourist that sell cigars, rhum, avana hats and few other. Than, where are cars? where are televisions? where are dresses? where are food shop, or grocery? This is a subtle shape of terrorism too. In all those difficulties this regime carry on to guarantee for the wide people of Cuba free hospital treatment (not like in USA, see M. Moore movie "Sicko"), an excellent free school organization and food for all. Just a thing: I seen that black citizens lives in worst condition than white people. I think that racism still survive in some way.
As well I understand that Cuban citizens are poor, and this because there is embargo and because Castros have made wrong economical choises. Repeat, we can hope just in the brave Obama's foreign politic, and hope that will not just a dream.
Best wishes,
Roberto
