Great areas! We miss the time we lived in Winnipeg, and these places were almost "in our back yard". Definitely will be returning there for more challenging trips!

They are blasted. I believe, the same time when the railroad was build on top of them, there was plenty of explosives and workforce to do some "extras". I think there was some kind of underground creek before that.

We hiked. Did not have canoe on that trip. But had plenty of time. There are some walkable trails across and along the island.

Hey Pinnsvin --- I saw your photos of the ww2 plane 2km from Port Hardy. I kayak that area and have many of my own photos of this region --- gorgeous place. I've heard of this wreck before, but nobody knew exactly how to get there. How do you find this plane? Is there a trail? Do you have GPS coordinates or something? Schooner Channel is a pussycat compared to Slingsby Channel on the north side of Bramham Island.
