Well taken picture but I wouldn't go as far as calling Brownhills "Quaint". It's quite run down. I think the miner would make a great ad for an anti-perspirant commercial, he seems to be showing off that after working down a mine for 12 hours there isn't a damp patch in sight!

Thanks for the comments on my photos of this lovely area, we had a very enjoyable day on the High Peaks Trail. When we checked out the route on Google Earth we did notice this one submitted by yourself & made a point of looking out for the bunker as we cycled along.

Nice series of photos here, Woodbeast. Have you been following me around, by any chance...?

Harboro rocks Hopton Tunnel

A fantastic trail, hope you enjoyed it as much as I do...

Best wishes

Bob

What a fantastic photo this is... I love the almost Escher-like interaction of the two bridges, and the House and stream give a remarkable layering effect.

Yet more cracking stuff from Woodbeast.

As a cyclist, I agree about the glass and the motorbike trap. As I've pointed out previously, it's sad that we've got this great new bridge, but it doesn't get much TLC. In the original plans for the bridge, anti-occupancy paving was to be laid underneath it (a rough, unpleasant surface that would be nasty to stand on) to stop the neds gathering underneath, but like most things, corners got cut and the job wasn't finished... and the youths got a new smoking shelter as a consequence.

The motorbike trap is ridiculous - although it conforms to standards laid out for such things, there are better designs and the placement is utterly silly. It's not as if it performs a useful function, the motorbike terrors can still get onto the towpath in numerous places nearby - like Coopers Bridge where the gate has been broken for at least 2 years.

The infamous 3 faced liar, called so because the 3 faces never tell the correct time nor does the time match on any of the faces.
