I've started using RAW format for my pictues (instead of JPEG) and so I need to use software to turn that into JPEG format. The advantage is there's a lot more choices you can make after you take the photo then if you use JPEG (mostly for me that means setting the white balance). In this case I used the software (standard stuff that comes with any Canon camera) to increase the brightness of those parts of the photo that were very dark, and decrease the brightness of those parts which were medium bright).

I have a photo taken right at the base there: http://www.panoramio.com/photo/58571720
It was steep, no question. You could work your way around the worst of it but it was close to a class III scramble if it wasn't all the way there. It was about one, to two hundred vertical feet, so it wasn't very extended. I'd say if he could use his hands and wasn't in a terrible rush it wouldn't be too bad.

Very nice capture, wonderful feel to it.

A close one, but it wasn't quite the right state for it.
