NZ Frenzy North is the North Island's best outdoors guidebook. This guidebook has details about all the top tourist spots, but it excels when detailing the off-the-path hidden spots around the island. Check the reviews on Amazon.com to see what NZ travelers think! My book is available as an instant-download PDF on my website www.NZFrenzy.com. cheers, scott

NZ Frenzy Guidebook …'s conversations

This Poly Multi-chrome painted image is rare up in John Day River. Basically the white background must have taken at least a month to fill in alone. The ++ shows human beings. One has circle on bottom (Mom) and above Mom was child ++ with no circle - as unborn baby. Upside down symbols show "Died"!

I like that speed limit on the beach! ;-)

But location if couple of kms off. Shall be more north, at Ninety Miles Beach Holiday Park. Near lake Ngatu and Waipapakauri.

This sign is almost pointing to the gravesite of Ellen Sophia Lynn b.London UK 1854, died 20 April 1895 Glorit NZ as Mrs Hans Kjoller. There was no cemetery so Ellen was buried on their farm. See Hans' grave at Glorit Cemetery.

Very nice photo. Like !! souw

http://tapuhi.natlib.govt.nz/cgi-bin/spydus/FULL/PHOTONR/OPHDR/119/882104,1 has now been amended to confirm the location at Te Kaha Point. In the background is Mt Karioi. The tattooed rock is in Manu Bay at the foot of Karioi - see https://ssl.panoramio.com/photo/24847921. I don't know why Gilmour Bros named this as the Tattooed Rocks in their postcards.
