I appreciate any suggestions if I am out, even though I make sure as far as possible the photo location is accurate. The point of Panoramio is you put the pin where the photograph was taken, so when it is added to Google Earth, the people using Google Earth can see what the world looks like from that point. As I said, the photo is now at the correct location, if you zoom right into the map you can see the statue where it's standing.

Also, sorry for the rant - you bore the brunt of my bad mood yesterday! And thanks for the information, that makes sense that they would put the memorial near to the area where Commandos were trained, every day's a school day!
