the old bridge that crossed the Seneca River past the Esso where the long tall bridge is today heading towards Seneca and the YMCA. It has not seen daylight since the lake/river was flooded in the late 50s.
The dike that holds the water back from the campus is to the extreme right. The Esso would be behind the houses in the upper right corner. The bridge crossing the river on Rt. 123 by the Hampton Inn would be to the extreme left.
The original white line dividing the two lanes of the asphalt highway road was still on the pavement.

it is my goal to visit as many SC waterfalls as I can, but I have not been to many in Oconee County. This area is beautiful. Rugged mountain wilderness and pastoral bottom valleys. I hope it always remains that way!

I hope you went on down the road and enjoyed the bar-b-que at Brasstown bar-b-que. My wife and I go there several times each trip up to our mountain house. I go even further down the road and climb down to the falls.
