So, to the uneducated, possibly jealous, obviously foreign person that left the comment above: The United States prides itself on being a melting pot of the entire world, and I would say that things like this show the USA’s appreciation for the many cultures of this planet.
Every name of every place in this country is from somewhere else unless it’s Native American. And by the way, Greece is one of the oldest civilizations, dating back over 5000 years. The land in this country has only seen structures built with these materials for a few hundred years now.
Americans don’t steal things from other countries – the people ARE from other countries. …and why do you think so many people from other countries come here.

This is a permanent installation by the Cuban born New York artist, Jorge Pardo, it is called Penelope (after the wife of Ulysses). If you want to know more go to Liverpoolwalks.com and search out the walk around the district called Rope Walks. There is a thumbnail of this sculpture, click on it to find out more. Just out of shot, to the right is the legendary nightclub home of Cream.

Hi, thanks for comments. Yes we actually did a 5 month tour around route 1 the whole of Australia - haven't put those pics on yet. Hiring a van is the best way to see OZ, no doubt about it. Its very easy to find campsites, most villages have a council run site (cheaper), free camping is harder as officially its a bit vague as to whether its ok in some places. That was a carpark right next to the sea, we came back the next night too. I would say we freecamped about 1 in 8 nights. Much easier in NewZealand where you can freecamp every night as long as your battery/water hold out. Enjoy your trip!
