This is the Elk River wind farm in Latham, Kansas just outside of the slightly larger town of Beaumont, which is on State Route 400. It consists of 100 1.5MW GE 1.5sle turbines that were built in Pensacola, Florida in 2005.

I think this shot is looking south toward the Chalk Badlands. Notice the small pile of talus that is left at the base of the tower. We visit this monument each year, around Memorial Day, and have noted that the chalk that falls off the tower does not accumulate at the base, but dissolves in the rain.
I agree with Steve Adams, we have been there when the roads were wet, and it was almost impossible to get close to Castle Rock even in a 4 W D vehicle.
