This ferry was in use from 1562 up to 1975 and is again in use since 1888 from 1st of may to 30th of September. Capacity: 30 people and 3 cars. When i wanted to get over the Jümme with it in July 2007, the water was to high to use it.
This bridge is divided in four parts, the left and right ones can be lifted and the swimming middle two-ones are pulled below each of the side-ones, so ships can pass.

This locks are not for ships, but only to hold the water on a certain level.

A rich fisher-town in former times. It's worth to take time and visit it.
You can have lots of discussion about it, but it is indeed very impressive, this man-made-mountain.
Very good campsite, very new in July 2007 and with an outdoor swimming pool nearby. Behind me is the stream.
