The contractor had painted "Florence Mall" on the water tower but the mall was not finished so the tower could not promote an area that was not complete. So instead of repainting the whole area of the tower the "M" was turned to a "Y'". And a Northern Ky icon was born. I grew up in Hopeful Heights in 70's and used to ride my dirt bike and race the large earth movers on what is now Mall Road when it was being built.
These are the next generation Sycamore trees that were standing when Boone & Henderson started building fortifications. The last of the original trees was taken down some 70 years ago.
