I am an enthusiastic amateur. I use 35mm film and digital. My photographic aspiration is to produce landscape photos that present the subject in the most pleasing and natural way possible. I no longer participate in the forum due to the absolute pig's ear that G**gle have made of it. I appreciate sincere comments and will endeavour to visit the galleries of those who leave them. Hi Amelia. We have had wind and rain with some local flooding, but nothing like Cumbria or York thankfully. It was quite shocking to see the devastation in places like Pooley Bridge and Keswick. Some biker friends of mine have been collecting and delivering parcels full of food and clothing. Best wishes back to you for the New Year.

Very special shot ! L

Thank you, Rosa, for your appreciation of these big birds. Sadly, for Adrian at least, the second RAF Leuchars Typhoon squadron, 1(F) Squadron was transferred to Lossiemouth, last year. The possibility of seeing these planes + the Himalayas putting green encouraged him to take me to St.Andrews fairly regularly. However the good news, for Adrian at least, is that several Typhoon aircraft, mothballed to cut costs in 2011, could be brought out of storage and put back into service at Leuchars air base as part of the Government’s forthcoming defence review. ;-)

Cheers, Amelia

I have seen a video of a flooded village in Norway because of an avalanche, but not heard about Alta before, Per. The Welsh people tried very hard to stop the village of Capel Celyn from being flooded to no avail. The strength of the English parliament won in the end. Yes - reservoirs are so interesting, and this one doesn't really compare in size or beauty to that in Blåsjø, but at least no villages were flooded in Norway to create the huge reservoir. Thank you so much for visiting all the most recent reservoir photos. ;-)

Hugs to Sola, A x

Bella captura.

Saludos cordiales.
