With the demise of our beloved Panoramio I fear a lot of friendly connections will be lost forever. Certainly the contributions and historic comments from those no longer with us will disappear due to the greed of a company that thinks it above the "don't do evil" creed it supposedly set itself. I am on Flickr And may soon be on Ipernity. If you visit and have a different user name, please identify yourself!

Thanks Amelia. I believe it is sandstone, and from more than one source. The red stone occurs throughout the borders and down towards the Penrith area. I'm not sure where the gold and the brown stuff is from - possibly from the same area as the stone used at Whitby. I would have loved to see the carving when it was fresh!

Cheers, Keith

Many thanks Steve. Interior shots like this do work better with digital and I amvery pleased with this.

Regards, Keith

You are very kind sir! The shot turned out well, but I am sorely tempted to go back with a film camera.

Cheers, Keith

Thanks Steve. It amazes me how weathering works on headstones,

skida Agreed :~) Thanks Keith

Thanks Nick. The day was beautifully sunny until we reached the destination, when it clouded over. I hoped the flowers would lift the picture which lacked any shadows.

Cheers, Keith
