Filippo: This is a memorial page for a dear friend. While we are all worried about Panoramio, this is not the place to spam with your message.

I am delighted that you liked this one, Odd. This is taken in our village, in the churchyard.

Hilsen, Amelia

It's on the site of some old colliery lines - you can make out the route on the aerial shot/map. When the Metro was being built, they used these tracks for testing the trains.

Thanks Amelia.

When a werra lad...... this was all fields with three colliery lines running down towards the river, and this was the source of many boyhood adventures. I grew up in a house about half a mile away from this spot, so it was nice to visit.

I've seen quite a few penstocks in Norway, Keith, and one or two in Wales; but our trips to Scotland tend to revolve around the family in Edinburgh, and sentimental trips around the Kingdom of Fife. No mountains there.

As far as the rusty pipework is concerned, (well spotted), maybe it was left that way to give photographers a colour contrast. However, it does look as if they have replaced some sections on 3 of the pipelines, so maybe they are leaving the easiest one to repair, it is by the steps, until last. :)

Cheers, Amelia

skida hello Keith thank you i am pleased you like it .. i have visited this place a few times for steam passing with better results though thankfully

best wishes .. steve

Thank you Keith, got some new ones of Cragside on. Very disappointed in the slow demise and future total abandonment of Panoramio. I am however getting a lot of views on Maps Views, over 100,000 a day but haven't a clue where there all coming from. I think someone might be watching them as a video all day. I see your getting some nice results from your Sony A3000 take care. Stephen

DO YOU MIND ABOUT PANORAMIO FUTURE?

IF YOU LOVE AND LIKE PANORAMIO
