ygrii's conversations

My Grandmother used to own the Midway, I remember going there on Sundays when she had to clean, or into the family room on other occasions, My aunt worked there also. My cousin and I went back there several years back and had a drink and talked to some of the Clientele and surprizingly they remembered "Happy" went thru there last year and I believe the place has since been torn down.

Yeah, I dont think that is harsh. I think harsh would be "death to those who mock God" (Islam).

You do not have the correct location for Jug Rock. Please check further east on Hwy 50 for my location of Jug Rock. Thanks

You have delighted me! This was my great-grandfather's grocery store. His name was John Patrick Smith. His daughter (my grandmother) told how her mother wished she could go to the grocery store and be choosy about the produce like other ladies she knew!!! Her husband would always bring home the produce that wasn't so fresh - because he wouldn't be able to sell it.

This is the infamous John Poindexter street sign. Erected during the height of the Iran-Contra scandal, the sign was then "kidnapped" by local activist Bill Breeden. Bill held the sign ransom for a short time, then turned himself in to county authorities. Bill was the only person even remotely connected to the Iran-Contra scandal who served any jail time.
