John A C McFarlane's conversations

Dunnydeer and Insch railway station, good memoires this brings back we lived rothney end of Insch many many years ago.

In the 90's I had a contract with GM to inspect the crank shaft on this class of loco's. The rail men were great to work with. I miss the wonderful people, food and sights of Dublin. I hope to visit in 2010.

BEWARE!!!! So called Farmer who owns feild behind Beach lets out to campers. Beware!!!!!!!! He charges after tents put up! He then gives only 15 minutes notice he has over booked, and if he has a better class as in Caravanettes(he gets more money from them) Your out of there. BEWARE!!!!!!!!!

I've enjoyed viewing your photos ~ started on Oransay wade, I really liked the feeling of peace & tranquility. Ailsa on Skye appealed to me too. Are the mountains in background Skye or mainland?

Last time I visited my ancestral home was in 1993, and it was under restoration, and was a mess! It appears that the restorers have done a good job. May good fortune be with all who visit. Mark Melville, Dubbo, NSW. Australia

SIR, IT MUST HAVE JUST BEEN A SHORT VISIT, YOU ARE STILL STANDING!

East meets west in Amsterdam.

This path from the hotel leads directly onto the road bridge and you can cross the firth on foot.

A train-spotter's paradise, taken from the steep path up to Edinburgh Castle.
