I went to this waterfall this afternoon. It was cold and I didn't have time to hike in from the bottom so I just got to see the west side and hiked out.
How do i get here?

If you are familiar with Madison County, the parking spot is located on County Rd 5 (Cave Mountain Road). Cave Mountain Road runs from Highway 16 (West of Fallsville) to Highway 21 just south of Lost Valley and Boxley.
If you come in from Highway 16, once you turn right onto Cave Mountain Road, travel 5.5 miles. You will see a sign on the right stating” Upper Buffalo Wilderness.” Park here.
There is no trail to the falls, but it is not hard to find. Head into the woods behind the sign and hike down to Whittaker creek. If you follow the drainage down to Whittaker creek you pass by Griff Falls. Once you get to Whittaker Creek, hike downstream to Compton’s Double falls.
If you go down to the base of the falls, take a rope. The slope is steep getting down. Also, just downstream, there is a drainage coming in from the south. Britt falls is less than 50 yds from Whittaker creek.
Total hike is about 2.2 miles.
