Robert Roy's conversations

@Robert I think this is one of the most spectacular roads in Wales.

View from the Rosguill Peninsula looking across the lough towards Fanad Head

See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Waterloo

The farm of La Haye Sainte is at the left of frame, with La Belle Alliance (Napoleon's position) at the right. The Brussels road (axis of the battle) runs across the centre of frame.

Taken from the Lion's Mound.

Great photo I have one almost identical we took a visit on Sunday, beautiful place! Regards Samantha

Built in 1291, this is one of three surviving "Queen Eleanor Crosses", built by King Edward I to commemorate the resting places of his beloved Queen Eleanor's as her body was returned from Lincoln to London in 1290.
