This well-head exists in Retqa area in northern Kuwait, about 20 km from Kuwait-Iraq borders.

This looks like the drilling derrick abandoned by KOC in the early 1970s when about to drill a Jirfan exploration well. Although inside Kuwait, the Basrah authorities complained that the site was on their Rumaila Oilfield and obliged the company to withdraw its personnel from the area. The derrick was left to confirm Kuwait's claim to the territory.
