Excellent job capturing the power of a mighty waterfall.
(upper case Ð, lower case ð is pronounced "th" as in "mother"). "God Falls", so named because when Iceland converted to Christianity, some of the local idols were tossed into this pool.
The object in the foreground is a Hringsjá (literally, "ring-see") or view-dial. It is also a sun-dial but in addition to revealing local solar time you can sight along the gnomen (spindle) and names engraved around the edge will tell you the name of the thing in that direction.
Iceland has added quite a lot of interesting things since I was there.
Ingenious stitching, a very interesting photo.
You certainly get around. I lived on Iceland (Island) for two years and missed this one, alas, it is quite impressive.
I'm not sure if the photo is incredible, or the place, or both -- but this is very well done!
Very nice B&W!! And the small lake in the foreground is adding a lot!
