A poignant picture seen by few. We owe more than our lives to those referred to in this memorial. Yet a high percentage of us have forgotten or do not know about this human sacrifice at the behest of the few to protect the majority. 50 years ago we knew our neighbour and sought to protect. Now we fear our neighbour and lock ourselves away, privately yearning for peace. We live on one world and we breath one air, there is nowhere else to go. May there be a God to protect us from ourselves.

I remember when I was young, and I went to buy antiques in Portobello! But in that time there was not houses full of colour! London is a wonderful town, with parks, and National Gallery, St. Martin and Trafalgar, and so on. I love the Kent too, expecially Sevenoaks, with "my" Knole House and the Park.
Good night!

The road is actually called St Mark's Hill - after the name of the church!
