Devido ao seu potencial, acabou se tornando um grande pólo regional, tendo sua própria região administrativa, desmembrando-se de Bauru. oferece muitos serviços, incluindo saúde. Como a maioria das cidades deste porte do país, tbm possui grande contraste, ou seja, onde há riqueza, há pobreza, onde uma alimenta-se da outra. Mas não deixa de ser uma ótima cidade e c/ qualidade de vida.
