Thats my mum's house!

The salt marshes around the River Blyth near Blythburgh. The woods in the distance are part of Henham Park. The river here broke its banks over 50 years ago every tide floods a large area of what were once fields. It is actually quite a small river - in fact it is less than 20 miles in length from its source near Laxfield to its mouth between Southwold and Walberswick - but this is not obvious when the mud falts are covered every high tide!

Many of the villages in Suffolk have ornate village signs like this one in Bramfield, near Halesworth.

Holy Trinity Church, Blythburgh is a wonderful old building that stands on a slight arise above the winding, tidal river Blyth. This photo was taken for the footpath along the river bank that leads to Blyford and eventualyl to Halesworth.

Halesworth Market Place is in the older part of this historic Suffolk market town. Some of the buildings around the Market Place date from the late middle ages although the Church Tower from which this photo was taken is somewhat older. An open air market is held in the market place every Wednesday.

The Blythburgh Village Sign was created as a Millennium Project. It reflects the famous medieval carved wooden angels high in the ceiling of Holy Trinity Church, Blythburgh.

Saxmundham Railway Station on the old Great Eastern line from Liverpool Street, London to Lowestoft.

The memorial to the 56th Fighter Group (also known as Zemcke's Wolf Pack) is on the site of the old Halesworth Airfield from which the group flew in WWII.
