Margerie Glacier, just feet from the Canadian border and the end of the U.S. Glacier Park, is one of great size and beauty. In 2003 we unfortunately were not able to see any calving in the hours we spent there. A "must see"!

This is incredibly sad. When we climbed it ('65) the top was totally coered in ice, like a gigantic wedding cake. Will the snows ever return?

Leaving the Saddle Camp at midnight we reached Mount Meru's peak (the highest point of the caldera rim)at 8 am. Cold!!! (Sept. 2005)
